Botox

BOTOX cosmetic is FDA-approved for treatment and temporary reduction of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. It also treats the lines around the eyes and on the forehead.

BOTOX Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of those muscles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and the moderate to severe lines begin to fade.

BOTOX Cosmetic is a purified protein. It is not the botulism toxin. It is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment. A few tiny injections are made into the muscles that cause the furrowing lines. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.

The potential side effects include temporary pain and redness in the injected areas, muscle weakness, headache, flu symptoms, or temporary eyelid droop.

Results may be seen within days after the treatment and there may be continued improvement over the first week. Visible results last for three to four months. However, individual results may vary. After that, you may be ready for a follow-up retreatment.

Restalyne

Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. It may also enhance the appearance and fullness of the lips.

Restylane is the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.

Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort, a local anesthetic may be used.

The most common side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects usually resolve in two to three days.

Restylane does not require pretesting. However, aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John's Wort or high doses of Vitamin E should not be used before the procedure since they may increase bruising at the injection sites. Also if you have suffered from cold sores, the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence. Pretreatment may be used to avoid an outbreak.

Restylane lasts an average of six months; However, individual results may vary. Having a touch-up treatment before the product has completely dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

Pulsed Light Treatment

FOR HAIR REMOVAL

Pulsed-light systems work by emitting pulses of intense lamp-light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.

The Palomar Pulsed Light System is able to provide permanent hair reduction on all skin types. The treatment is fast and more comfortable for most people then waxing and treading treatments.

Prior to treatments you must avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks unless protected with an SPF 30 or greater sun block. You may shave your hair. However, you should not wax or pluck the hair to be treated for a month beforehand.

Any area on the body except around the eyes may be treated with pulsed-light. A wand-like handpiece is moved over your skin. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation.

Side effects may include very mild redness and tenderness in the treated area for a very brief time. The discomfort should not interfere with normal daily activities. Depending on the area involved and the individual's hair, three or more treatments may be required.

FOR SKIN BEAUTIFICATION

Pulsed-light systems are able to treat pigmented lesions such as age spots and sunspots which occur in response to sun-induced skin injury. It may also treat superficial blue, red or purple veins under the skin's surface including Rosacea and Spider Veins on the face.

The face (except around the eyes), neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, back may all be treated safely and quickly. A wand-like hand-piece is moved over your skin. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation.

Prior to treatments you must avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks unless protected with an SPF 30 or greater sun block. It will also be important to avoid direct sunlight immediately after the procedure as well.

Side effects may include very mild redness and tenderness in the treated area for a very brief time. The discomfort should not interfere with normal daily activities.

Pigmented lesions will darken skightly after treatment and then fade away after about 10-14 days. Vessels blanche immediately then fade after 10-14 days.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is an alternative delivery system of medication to the middle layer of skin called the Mesoderm.

Small needles are used to inject either homeopathic or allopathic medicine directly below the skin surface in the area needed. The treatments are very fast and have minimal pain.

FAT REDUCTION/ TREATMENT OF CELLULITE

By stimulating the mesoderm, or middle layer of the skin, It helps to disburse the cellulite and fat cells. It may successfully remove stubborn areas of fat such as the stomach which do not respond well to exercise and diet. Mesotherapy is not for generalized obesity.

Side effects include localized swelling and bruising at the injection sites which are temporary.

Results are seen within the first week. Usually 3-8 treatments are needed for optimal results.

SKIN REJUVINATION/MESOGLOW

Whereas skin products sit on top of the skin, with Mesoglow the nutrients are injected directly beneath the skin surface where they are needed. The injections are minimally uncomfortable and there is no significant redness or irritation of the face afterward.

This therapy is great for sun damaged skin damaged from sun exposure or skin damaged from smoking. It is also great for returning nutrients and hydration to older skin which has lost its elasticity.

ALOPECIA

By stimulating the mesoderm, or middle layer of the skin on the head the hair follicle is stimulated to regenerate. Medication is once again injected directly into the problem area rather than being injested and dispersed throughout the body.

PAIN MANAGEMENT

Pain medicine may be injected through mesotherapy directly into the area involved. Thus avoiding injestion of medications which might cause side effects such as stomach upset and avoiding exposing the entire body to a medication when only one specific area is painful.
